It uses three roller buckles and a host of rivets to bond it all together. What makes this unique is that it's not just a rectangle with buckles, it's actually specially cut to a pattern that better forms to the contours of the arm. The end result is a very wide cuff that rides more than halfway up to your elbow, but tightens evenly throughout the arm. The gauntlet base doesn't wrap all the way around the wrist, only partially, which provides better mobility, and wraps around enough that you don't lose the look.
